OH thankyou for your lovely comment and I am very happy to hear that you enjoy my SoulCollages! :D
I started making mine several years ago when I discovered this amazingly intuitive and creative process developed by Seena Frost, a psychologist and psychotherapist, who found it to be the most fun and effective art therapy and healing tool with her patients. It has grown enormously from then and now there are trained SC facilitators through the country and all over the world! :)
After I discovered her website http://www.soulcollage.com I then sent away for her book which explains and guides you all the way to making your own deck of SoulCollage cards...
Since I started making mine I haven't been able to stop! In fact if I had more time I know that I would still be making them almost every day because I just love the process SO much ;)
Also I think one of the greatest gifts of SC is that ANYONE can play and create and make them without ever having any kind of art experience before... Because if you can use a pair of scissors and cut out pictures and paste them onto a background then VOILA! That's all there is to it! There are no rules or right or wrong way to when making them... YAY!
Which I think is fantastic! Especially because it takes away the pressure of people who worry because they feel that they can't draw or struggle being creative. The SoulCollage process works in mysterious ways which you will discover for yourself soon enough ;)
Since I began I also joined a wonderful group of other SoulCollagers called "Kaleidosoul" which is run by a beautiful woman and friend, Anne Marie Bennett, which you can check out here http://www.kaleidosoul.com and where you can learn and share with other SoulCollagers in a very friendly and supportive community. It is one of my favourite places to visit and where I get constant inspiration for my own SoulCollage life journey :)
So Sandra... I am wishing you well on your creating path and am only too happy to be of assistance or answer any other questions you may have about SoulCollaging to help you get started ;)
Most of all, just have FUN and enjoy the journey!!! I just know you will ;)
Please do keep in touch and let me know how you get on and I look forward to seeing what you create! :)
So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.
And this is the completed screen ready for printing. I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).
