I didn't participate in the Rothko challlenge...on the site, anyway. I did make some attempts here at home that my better judgement told me not to share.
But the challenge really got me thinking about abstract art, and suddenly I found myself started going through all my old photos, digging out all the odd ones I could never explain and no one else ever really liked. I finally realized that they were amateurish attempts at abstract photography. It was like a light went on inside my brain. Why had I never realized this before?
Now I see potential abstract photos everywhere. How just a little challenge can teach you so much?
(I guess it helps if you have a lot to learn, like me!)
