I just returned from a trip to warm and sunny Miami Beach, attending the greatest art event of my life...Miami Art Basel...and I'm wondering if there were any others here at LMM who may have attended last week? It's an international art show which attracts artists, collectors and patrons from around the world for four glorious days of viewing (and buying) thousands of pieces of amazing art! I didn't buy anything, just did the "looking." The big event takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, but there were many other smaller events scattered around the city. The prices were VERY HIGH for everything, but needless to say, millions of dollars exchanged hands during this show. There were a number of "classic" pieces (Picasso, Miro, Chagall, etc.), but also many new artists showing their stuff. Hundreds of galleries from around the world apply for a space at this show, but only about 200 are selected. Many smaller galleries set up shop at one of the satellite events. This was a first for me, and I'm hoping to go back again in the next year or two. It is now a regular event every year the first week of December. We were allowed to take photos at the major event (Convention Center)...I've put together a short youtube video of some of the stuff that caught my eye. I'll post the link here, and in "multimedia."

Thanks for the video, Greg.  There are some pieces there that could be duplicated, but would you want to?

I'm thinking of interpreting one of those pieces into a fabric piece.   One piece I want to forget is the lady in pink lying on the couch.

HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.

And this is the completed screen ready for printing.  I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
