Helllo Everyone,
It has been many moon since i have expressed or shared on this wonderfull avenue , known has art from the heart, run by Gary and his wonderful and energetic staff. (EXCUSE) I work on noc shift, also known as 11 to 7 am, for about a year and 4 months,,,, i changed to keep an eye on my 14 yearold son,,, so i am sleepy and grogy and grumpy(more than usus, triats of the artist). weeeeeeeeeeellllll,,,,, i have been getting email from gary and co. about this project and that, and so much to do and,,,,,, i get tired just reading,,,it,,,i know its great stuff,,, this is a working artists site,,,, i have considered much in the last few months about taking myself out of this site,,,because i dont show enough interest,,,,,, i dont want to take up valuable space(selfpity),,,,, bbbbbbut ,,,, then i get this email ,,,about in the darkness,,,with a awesome painting,,, of the lamb and the black birds,,,,,,caught my eye! matter of fact ,,,i m still bleeding,,,,from my eye,,see ,,, caught my eye,,,and .....uummm ok,,,,,sooooooo,,,, wow,,,, out of a fog,,,, of incoherent disenchantment,,,,ka boom,,,, ouch,,, wow,,, Gary,,,you woke me up,,,, and everyone that contributed ,,,, art,,,stories their heart,,,, sincerity,,,, shit,,,that doesnt happen much out there in the world of commercials,,,,,sooooooooooooo.
welll,,,, so much went through my head,,,, i wrote words,,,, did some sketches,,,,nothing really came to gether,,,,but ,,,,,,,,then i remembered this painting,,,,,,A Thousand years of Bloodshed and tears,,,,,, a friend at work said,,,hey,,,,come up with a title and then paint it,,,,, wow,,,so i did,,,, boom,,,, well this painting did not come easy,,,, i was in the middle of much emotional upheavel,,,,,,,, family,,,anger,,,, distractions,,,blame, guilt,,,,,,anywho,,,, i had started using music,,, specific music to help me finish paintings,,,,,it was like magic,,,,, well,,,for some reason i picked system of the downs,,,,,, toxity,,,,to do this painting too,,, nothing else,,,, over and over,,, loud ,,,,in my ear,,,,, inspired by such lyrics as,,,,pushing little children with their semi automatics,,,they like to push the weak around,,,, and ..pull the tape worm out of your ass,,,,chop suey,,,my favorite,,,,anywho,,,, this painting came out like pulling a bowling bowl out through my urethra,,,,ouch,,, then,,,,,,,,everyone i showed it too said,,,,damn Earl that is really sad,,,,,,, aaaaaaaaaahh,,, i was neccessary and helpfull in excercising my demons,,,,,,i did eventually give it to my son,,,,, who appreciated my art, and i appreciate his appeciation,,,, that would be arthur,,,, he is 26 years old,,,,and does not lie to me,,,, ouch,,, i broke 2 phones to prove it,,,,,lots of ups and downs,,,,, soo,,,, again thank art from the heart and all the staff who keep this site going,,,,,,, and everyone who puts their heart and soul out there,,,,,, amen. most sicerely Earl A.

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.
And this is the completed screen ready for printing. I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).
