an interesting video from tate. curator ann gallagher does a walkthrough with damien hirst himself on the exhibition rooms.  i have often thought that he is a good study for artist who wants to punch through the crowd and clutter. does he make great art? there are some gems (imho) but i'm fascinated more by the persona.

Yes, that's the nicest thing with London... Chockful of things to see and do! I always try and get a few days off to go around. I saw your Freud post... So jealous! That only comes in a blue moon.
I'm thinking the eggs will find its way here, like the elephants. Lol.
Eagerly awaiting your bacon 'report'. That will be a treat. Also another must see in my list. I hope someone tracks a basquiat/s and share

I saw the Freud show a couple of weeks back, fabulous. What a pity your work trip doesn't coincide with these - but there will no doubt be something else to see when you DO get to London. And don't forget to let me know when you are here!!

Next week I am going to Dublin and will see Bacon's studio... has been a pilgrimage I wanted to make for a while now. Will definitely be posting about THAT!

Not a problem at all Mary! Thought fellow LMMers would find these videos good watch.
The last one was a video with Noel fielding of channel 4. Hirst was very 'playful' in this video. A bit bummed out... Was supposed to be in london but business meeting were moved to end yr. going to miss this, kusama and even Freud! Be great to hear from you when you get a chance.
funny anecdote on islington shop... Might trek there just out curiosity when I'm there! Cheers!

Thanks for posting Darwin! I could only see the first two videos but they were very interesting. I have been debating whether I really want to see the Hirst exhibition... maybe I SHOULD make the effort LOL

I was tickled to hear that he got the infamous skull for the diamond encrusted work from Get Stuffed in Islington, it is a shop 5 minutes walk from where I work and I always stop and stare into its window (full of stuffed animals).

HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.

And this is the completed screen ready for printing.  I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
