Creativity as Mental Disorder

Lately, my mind has been bombarded with questions, but one in particular caught my interest - is creativity a mental disorder? Now, before any of you send me off to a psychiatrist or start laughing, hold your horses and please read on. First off, everyone is creative. I don't care if you tell me that you cannot paint, draw, play an instrument(s), etc. YOU are still creative! The only thing that might set you apart from the rest of the crowd is your degree of creativity. In other words, your…

Creativity - comes and goes

I exercised today. Now, that might not seem like much, but for me it was a huge step in the right direction - but exercising is not my topic - but I noticed something today while walking around the track.

The first lap I was doing okay and about half-way through I started sweating and thinking - "I gotta sit down." I thought, "Man, you ALWAYS do this - start and then talk yourself out of it (I don't have the right shoes. My knee hurts. It's too hot. It's too cold…

Artist Block Exercise

I am currently feeling uninspired by art.

I certainly have the desire, but the execution seems lacking. Even my

usual tried and true "block buster" method of switching media (which as

worked for a looong time) doesn't seems to be helping. So I figured it

might be a good idea to use another section of my brain and write about

what I am experiencing and how I can feel better about it. I'd love to DO it WITH some people though! Maybe we can work it all out together… Continue

What Stops You From Making Art?

Here is one reason. Wally likes to lay on what ever is in my lap or in front of me. It makes stetching a challenge. How about you? What kind of things put a wrench in your plans to get creative? How do you overcome the "Can't get started" syndrome?

HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.

And this is the completed screen ready for printing.  I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
