I have been thinking form Psychoanalytical point of vew of Segmend Frued. The conflect of human persona and socity as I percive, reflected to my Paintings.
Once upone a time many moons ago our froword march twowards this civilisation happend. But the prehitoric fragments are still their I feel.Even single moment I'm surrounded by solitary soul and the cluster of solitary Souls. That depresses me,agitaes me,inspaires me.....
Now that April is coming to an end, I've got so many ideas and projects that are waiting in the que for May!
I've got THREE challenges lined up for the Faeries/Mystic Art group, as well as some new technique ideas and an Inspiration Spotlight... Two of the new challenges will be non-faerie related, but, rather, focus on the "mystic" side of the group. By offering 3 separate, yet simultaneous challenges, I'm hoping it will appeal to a wider spectrum of the group members. What… Continue
I'm horrible at figuring out pricing...how do my fellow chickies ( and roosters...) do it? How do you factor in time, materials, originality...bascially , what "formula" do you use to come up with a price? I have an in-home sale this Friday with a local woman and several other artists/crafts people where 20% of our sales go to a local children's charity...I've made items from the low-end, mid-range to upper-end in terms of time, materials etc., but I panic when I try to come up with a fair,… Continue

So I have taken the plunge and committed to Gary’s 30-day challenge starting the 1st of May. The Commitment word is a difficult one for me so this will defiantly be a test of my willpower. I have decided to take this challenge one step further and tailor it to more specific needs. I have started to immerse myself back into the world of Art Therapy and thought this challenge would be a great opportunity to play around with a few concepts. I don’t want to take it through a deep and meaningful… Continue
I send my contribution for project Landfillart.
This hub that I painted is newer and maid from plastic, but I found it by the road. Every day numerous cars loose they hubs because of their reckless driving. The hubs end up by the roads like another memento of negligence.
I named the painting “Freedom Horse”, freedom from wast, negligence, human egoism etc.
Its Earth day today and I just wanted to remind you all of that. Walk or ride your bike today. Make art from your junk. Send a zen message to Robert Rauschenberg via the universe;}.Turn off your lights bla bla bla;) And also the video I put up is now running properly sorry about that.

I started reading a really interesting biography about Francis Bacon. The book is written by one of his friends Daniel Farson.
I have to say i know very little about Bacon, and that is part of the reason i decided to find out more about him.
Well i haven't been able to put the book down! You know how things come into your life for a reason? You know you read a book which you feel is written just for you? Well this book is one of those 'AHA' books and i recommend (so far on… Continue
This is at stage 2, adding the plaster. You mix the plaster and wait for it to get to just the rite thickness so it will stick to the clay, without running to much.(its a fine science) Then you start pouring it out over the top, and down the sides working fast. You keep adding until it is covered. This is the first coat. The blue paint is sprayed on to recognise the first layer of plaster. Add a second coat… Continue

Today was the second day of a sculpture class that I am doing this weekend. I think I'm in love with this process. First we built a sculpture form clay of what ever we wanted. Then we poured and splattered plaster of paras all over the sculpture to build a mold… Continue
Been under the weather for a few days now, but, I think I'm over the worst of it, so, with a little luck and a lot of hope, I'll be in form again, soon, and able to catch up here, on the site, over the next few days.
I feel really terrible about not being able to post some things into my group this week... Great big appologies to all the Faeries/Mystic Art group members, about that. However, over the next few days, I will inject my braincells with green tea and chocolates, and… Continue
When I was little my mother always told me how popular my name was, but I never ran into any other Marys. I could probably count on my fingers all the other Marys I’ve met in my life. Until I landed here and all of a sudden there were Marys everywhere. And I won’t lie and say that I wasn’t tickled every time someone said something to Mary even though it wasn’t me. So now I am wondering if I am here because I adore Gary and his amazing art and his amazing generosity and his silly dancing antics,… Continue
It has been a whirlwind for me this past month, getting ready for the show on Sunday. I have gone through my "Dry Run" of setting up my display and I am now printing out last minute paperwork for labels and info sheets and certificates.
I Squeezed in this last painting just in time. Titled "Just Dance", it is an acrylic and enamel dyptich on canvas and framed in hand-made floater frames.
I think I may relax, finally a little bit today… Continue
Hi Everyone, this is amazing... our city opened a new art fair to run from April to December each Saturday. The opening was April 4th and 40 thousand people showed up. The following weekend was around 37 thousand. Can you believe that?
I am posting a link if anyone wants to see pictures. What our City did was use the space under a large bridge (for cover because this is Florida and it gets hot)- it's really a great thing, they have made it very nice with built in seating for… Continue
I have been a little busy with Easter and all that family get together stuff so I have not posted much. This is a Georgia O'Keeffe style painting and painting # 14. I found it hard to blend the acrylic paint without spoiling the shading. I would like to try… Continue
Go to this website to not only vote for your favorite modern artist but click on the artists' names and see examples of their work. A fun resource and a good way to get familiar with artists you may have not heard of:
How many times have I seen it, read it and understood it? But why in the heck didn't I put it to practice..."DO NOT LEAVE AN ENCAUSTIC PAINTING IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT...let alone direct sunlight in the confines of a car in 70 degree heat...well duh.
Remember this lovely painting...one of my 1st encaustics.
Well, it is no more. I forgot left it in the car yesterday for oh about 4 hours, and as a result...I now have this.… Continue
This morning, the birds are singing, the trees are in blossom. Young leaves are bursting from bud, its beautiful. I'm sitting here with a coffee, windows wide open (its a little warmer today) and enjoying watching three big nests being built and finishing touches made! Lets hope the sun breaks through today! Its good to be in England now April is here. Have a good day everyone : )
So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.
And this is the completed screen ready for printing. I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).
I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
