CREATIVE SANCTUARY

My vision of what I want to create with other artist-healers is so real to me that I know it already

exists on some other universe layer:

CREATIVE SANCTUARY

Artist healers  seeking sanctuary from worldly concerns  are welcome to…

Finding a Suitable Gallery (K.C., Twin Cities, Chi.)

For about a year now I've had a few of my assemblages in a couple of galleries in my area: Des Moines and Ames, Iowa. Eventually, I'd like to try and find a gallery or two in one or more of the "urban" areas in states bordering Iowa: Kansas City, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Chicago for example.

My issue is: what's the best way for artists to find galleries that sell similar work? One simple answer is to drive to each of these cities and visit the hundreds of available galleries. This,…

05ue98hr2bmf9 Mitsi's solo show - Alfriston, Sussex, UK

Today I had a little trip down to Sussex, my favourite corner of the world... to see Mitsi Brown's solo show in the cutesy village of Alfriston. It was a perfect day and really warm for late March, clear blue sky and birds singing fit to bust - fantastic!

Here is a video of the day.

I painted…

A Blind Date with the Infinite Unknown

The   Creative  Spirit  leads me  into  many worlds.   I’ve  trekked   alone in the Himalayas  and lived  naked in virgin jungles of Hawaii.  I’ve  been   scientist,   monastic in a mystic order artist and  teacher.    I seem to  learn  the  same  lessons wherever I  am:   to have faith in the unknown; to ride the  wave of the moment;  to let go of  the illusion  of control;    to plumb the depths of mind and emotion  without fear  or  judgment.   And  best of  all --to…

What is Constant in Art?

"What is Constant in Art" is a question posed by my model drawing instructor.

So, what are some answers you could think of?

New website in the works.

Hey everyone,

I'm very excited to say that I'm finally in the process of building a proper website, with all the cool stuff that artists put on their websites. Below is the temporary URL. When it goes live the address will be, www.nikkostudiospace.com

What are you doing or brewing that would thrill you?

Another favorite quote.."what would you do - if you knew you could not fail?"..

05ue98hr2bmf9 Pop-up shop for Essex artists

Today I took a trip to Chelmsford in Essex (east of London where I live) to go and see the new pop-up shop a group of Essex artists have started. My friend Joan who is also a member here had art displayed there, the really eye-catching pieces being the three mannequins she had in the window:…

HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.

And this is the completed screen ready for printing.  I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
