Too many ideas in one painting...

I am a little frustrated with my paintings lately. I tend to have way too many ideas as I go along and my work ends up being well, sort of chaotic. I then spend WAY too much time trying to simplify back to a cohesive looking piece. My mind just seems so cluttered these days and i guess that is why this is happening. I am thinking maybe I need to do multiple paintings at once so as to put each idea into a single piece. Or maybe this is just the way I am as an artist right now. What do you…

FANTASTIC ART

Yet another link to another coolsome artist! I just had to share! I don't have the patience to create stuff as small, intricate and detailed such as the last few artworks I have provided y'all links to. However, I certainly do appreciate the artists that do. I find this kind of stuff amazing.

Stealing a Page from Gustav Klimt

The other day I was looking through one of the books on my bookshelf - a book I haven't read for a couple of years - and as I thumbed through the pages a little scrap of a doodle fell out.  Apparently I had stuck it in between the pages as a bookmark.

This falling scrap of a doodle several…

EASY BUBBLE TECHNIQUE

i stumbled on a really easy bubble technique with regular white glue [Elmer's]...simply drop blobs of glue onto the surface-- make them pretty deep--- after they are a little  dry-- simply take a heat gun and heat up the blobs-- they bubble up - -like the bubble paint technique--- they dont get quite as large but they turn out pretty cool-- u can see example in the painting called "untitled"..

i think the bubble technique with the paint does produce a cooler effect but the glue works…

Feeling a bit reflective, a few thoughts.

One can wake up in a quiet mood sometimes. Waking up to a day that is grey and raining. I have been busy for a while preparing for a spring craft fair in a village hall, just outside the city where I live.

You know how things take over, then one morning where everything seems quiet, thinking nothing in particular, perhaps thinking what to do next in a sort of half hearted way. I check my mail and find myself back here in LMM, looking at all the new faces and some of the folk that have…

Crying on the outside....

Sometimes being a clown isn't all it's cracked up to be (no pun intended).  This little guy is sad.  Not sure why, but he certainly isn't enjoying his time at the big top! …

Hand printed Cards

I am just really excited about screen printing at the moment and I have a tone of ideas and designs I want to create. The possibilities are endless, I am thinking t-shirts designs and limited edition cards. I was surfing the net as I always do when I am looking for inspiration and i randomly came across an awesome etsy site where this guy was creating his own limited edition prints using a combination of new and old screen printing techniques. He actually uses the light sensetive sheets.…

Exultation

We have a new associate priest at church.  God Bless him but he is the most boring, negative, depressing speaker ever!  I know he's new and he will find his groove, but in the meantime, I have found myself using his sermon time as a time for reflection on my art work.  Two weeks…

HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.

And this is the completed screen ready for printing.  I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
