My new painting LOL
Added by Lee Hynes on February 27, 2012 at 8:25am — 4 Comments
Today I was determined to start a painting in COLOUR, and use a canvas i have had lying around for AGES. So I took as my inspiration a video made by Mitsi, I loved the colours in the picture she was painting and the image of her face overlaid on the painting was irresistable. I was using a lot of ink and turned…

Did you know that with Gary's "map" of where we all live,,,,you can click on one persons name...hit Satellite, zoom in and see where they live AND how their terrain/country differs from where you live? You can even put the little man on your street location to look directly at your house! Is this stalking??? LOL! I've gone all over the world to see the different cultures and hillsides and to see the beauties we don't have here... It's amazing! Only exception to the rule are those who put…

Technologically Confused?
I have a question: When I first joined this site, I would receive lots of emails reflecting the conversations going on between the wonderful artists community of LMM. However, in past months, I have seen nothing. Have I hit some random button to block things, or are there no conversations going on anymore? Please advise, I loved watching the discourse and being made aware of what others are up to. Thanks! Patti :)

Its a "Year in the Life " thing to leave to my grandchildren. My dogs died in January and I just havent felt like talking since. They were both 16 and my closest companions, I dont like humans much anymore. They are on the whole selfish, shallow and opinionated. Present company excluded of course.I havent done but 1 1/2 paintings this year and they were started before the…

Addicted to Soft Pastel
Lately, I have been using soft pastel instead of charcoal or graphite for drawing. Every nude model drawing I create has to be on stained coffee Stonehenge and coloured soft pastel. What I find strange is that I never truly liked drawing. I am more of a painting kind of person...but there's something about chalk pastel. I've been looking into Edgar Degas for clues, but found nothing. I just don't get it! Give me a pencil and I'll never get the drawing done. Throw some soft pastel, however,…

Long time since I posted on here, lot of water under bridge so we will skip that and get onto my current art status.
I owe a lot to Gaz and other artists on here, for getting me interested in lots of art, for keeping me going when seriously depressed and for just being them and doing their thing.…

Fantasy Art and such
Wow, it's been a while since i blogged on here. Well I've been kind of busy lately. What's new well to start off i got my gallbladder removed for having gallstones. But now i'm getting alittle better and now i'm driving again. What else, I switched from making abstract art to Fantasy. I kind spent alot of time exploring a world outside of Abstract world. Since most of what i done was abstract art in high school. But i then learned to draw. Later found my love of the world of fantasy art. At…

Each of us is a collage
Each of us is a collage. Of joy and sorrow, of dreams and regrets. A tear falls near a smile, a hug conquers a push. We gather good days and put on top of them the bad ones, hoping that the glue isn't strong enough. We add ourselves new layers every day and we become burdened. We are collages. Collages are everywhere. Here too.
This is the description of the facebook page made for my new blog. You cand find it…

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.
And this is the completed screen ready for printing. I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
