I recently had my first solo show. It was fun to say the least.. day 1 was a bit quiet, but day 2 took me by surprise. I was on my feet for nearly 8 hours continously talking and giving tours and selling. By the end of the day, I was croaking like a frog and every bone in my body was aching! :)
I had kept a diary just for this and made notes, reminders and long lists of To-DOs for nearly 6 months. Little things like the table cloth, flowers, hand made but professional looking price…

Two LMMers Meet IRL!!
I went to see Richant's art show today -- it was less than a half hour drive from my house on Capitol Hill in DC. It's in a really beautiful community center and the space is LOVELY. AND she has sold a bunch o' paintings already! LOVE THEM. Of course, you've seen them in her various blogs....
Richant wasn't anywhere like how she is in her videos -- NO that's WRONG she's EXACTLY like her videos (haha what a surprise). Dressed from head to toe in PURPLE and just a joy to be with. We…

livin' my dream?
so my friend Rose asked me today if i was livin' my dream. i am not sure if she was really serious or if this was simply a rhetorical question, much like "what's up?"
however it was intended, it certainly stuck with me for the better part of my day.
you see the Truth is, i am so close to living my dream sometimes. and these moments, where my dream is just a walk across the street, i look both ways so many times, i forget what it is i am looking for.
these past weeks for me…

New Year – Old Ideas
My first blog of the New Year takes me back to the year before last. 2009 was the year I sold one of my works out of an exhibition for the first time. It came as a total surprise to me… I didn’t mean to sell this one… I didn’t want to sell it… I just wanted to expose it to…

HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.
And this is the completed screen ready for printing. I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
