An architect has shown interest in my paintings. Now I need to meet him, walk him through my work and take this forward. So if he likes my work, he'll either be recommending my paintings to his…Continue

I've had this question looming in my head for sometime on giving discounts to customers. In your experience - do customers "expect" discounts when you sell art? I've heard that it's normal to give a…Continue

How does one establish copyrights to an original artwork? Do you have to register it at an agency or someplace? I've often wondered how to go about this the best way. I have not even considered…Continue

I had initially posted this on my personal blog. Re-posting it here since it might strike a chord with artists here at LMM who might be doing similar work.

What does it take to cheer someone up? And what if the person you are trying to cheer up was terminally ill? What would one say, would could one possibly do to wipe those tears and…

I have been working on this canvas for probably 3 months. Layer after layer - NOThing seemed to work. Have tried so many things that I'm sure the canvas has shuddered at the mere sight of me!! :)
Finally I saw Nikko's videos and decided to give it a try. What do you think?
sized 38in x 24in - split into a triptych. I think I'm going to call it "Rainbow Melt". There's a lot of symbology made with India Ink beneath the colourful layer which is not showing…

I've been missing in action on LMM for a while now.. For those of you who know me a little, probably remember that I had my show and also an art fair in Jan. So after that was done, I was completely exhausted and badly needed a break from anything remotely arty!
Long story short - somewhere in the past few months I got diagnosed with Migrane. For those of you who know what migranes feel like - you know what I'm talking about. I hate popping pills with a vengeance and I am…

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.
And this is the completed screen ready for printing. I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
