The Scream Scares Up an All Time Record
Edvard Munch's "The Scream"sold for a record $119,922,500 at Sotheby's auction in NYC. The price for the 1895 pastel was includes the buyer's premium.
The previous record for an artwork sold at auction was $106.5
million for Picasso's "Nude, Green Leaves, and Bust," sold by
Christie's in 2010.

A Naples, Italy art museum set a painting on fire this week – the first of 1000 planned burnings, according to the director, who is protesting budget cuts. The artist, Severine Bourguignon, approved the protest and watched his painting burn online.
Stolen Cezanne recovered
A Cezanne painting worth more than $100 million stolen in 2008 was recovered by police in Belgrade. “The Boy in the Red Waistcoat,” along with a Monet and van Gogh were recovered but a Degas is still missing. Three suspects are being held.
