Paint your fridge magnets

Posted on July 31, 2011 at 10:30pm 10 Comments

Every time i find commercial fridge magnets when i go to delivery restaurants and taverns i grab one or two:) They are cool small canvasses to my eyes.

Last night i painted some of them and it was fun. In fact i thought i could order a sheet of magnet and cut it in the dimensions i want but then i saw the price of it and i made up my mind! Its aprox 16 euros for 1 meter -i dont know if its a good…

Ideas to incorporate to your work

Posted on July 25, 2011 at 12:31am 9 Comments

I came across this tv show videos yesterday and watched almost all of them.

They are presenting some cool and interesting techniques mainly for scrapbooking but i thought some elements are great for painting or assemblage or making your work a bit interactive or 3D.

Here is the link of their site…

When we dont know what to paint..

Posted on February 20, 2011 at 7:44am 7 Comments

Recently i found in the school's trash an old book with these great yellow-sepia pages and i thought i could use it for collage pieces or as a background for paintings.

Two of the book's pages had some portraits of the writers -printed old fashion photos or a simple drawing of someone. Too bad i didnt take a photo of them before i paint them over…

A break from vacations

Posted on August 5, 2009 at 10:29pm 5 Comments

Hey guys. Ohh at last back to my home, to familiar things around. Vacations can be tiring! dont hate me for saying that please. July started with my sister's wedding and then i went to an island for a couple of weeks. Well it was not what i had in mind exactly!... i wanted to sleep in a tend and spend my time at an ideal beach to clear my mind and throw away the last winter... but... weather was tricky and hard on me, too windy and rainy and hot. But im not complaining, it was nice! These are… Continue

Happy belated Birthday, Mary.  Just wanted to tell you I am in total awe of your work.  I know I must have commented on one of your pieces at some time or another, but when I looked earlier at your profile I didn't remember seeing it, as it completely blew me away.  Your work is amazing!

HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.

And this is the completed screen ready for printing.  I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
