How did you hear about Loving Mixed Media?
I ran across one of your videos a few years back, and I've been watching you for a long time. As a gay artist, I am struggling with content, but my education at Ringling has helped me a lot with that issue. Now I am experimenting with shaped canvases, and they are quite the little challenge! The link I supplied is to my Senior Thesis blog, where I will be posting my work for the world to see. I love watching your videos, because you are so easy to understand, and your mind is free flowing, and I admire that greatly. I hope some day we can meet. I am sure collaboration would be very fulfilling for the both of us. Sorry to hear of your BF troubles. I've been through a few of those myself! LOL! Feel free to begin a dialogue. I keep in contact with many successful artist, be they gay, straight, and bi. I hope to find a way to get my Master's Degree in Europe. So, it's possible you and I could meet some day!
Describe your style of art and materials you like to use?
Dude, I am all over the board. My initial high school training was in both fine art and commercial art, and I've had a career in advertising and marketing. Presently, I am working on my BFA in Fine Art Painting at Ringling College of Art and Design (yes, Ringling as in Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus...but it AIN'T clown college! LOL!) Ringling is known as one of the best art schools in the world. And we are better equipped with technology than even MIT, or Yale, or Harvard! I work in abstract landscapes painted on shaped canvases, which gets VERY tricky! Sometimes I use found objects, and my work tends to be somewhat sculptural. Rarely, I also like to do figurative work, especially the muscular male nude!

HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.

And this is the completed screen ready for printing.  I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
