I tried and tried but I can't resist the obvious.
Since this is the month of LOVE the challenge has to be about LOVE!

It can be all hearts and flowers if you like, but if you are thinking outside of the box you could really go to town and portray "expressions" of love.

What I DON'T want to see is portraits of your children or pets "because you love them".
But I would welcome creatively composed shots of your children which express a feeling of love say between siblings or a parent or grandparent for EXAMPLE.

I would like to see you plan your shots.
Think about the many different kinds of love or symbols of love.

This is a good opportunity to use colours or soft focus to help in your expression.

But I do want this to be a fun challenge as well so there is nothing to stop us from just playing with hearts.  This also helps if we don't have willing models who will perform or indeed sit still for us!

I'm looking forward to seeing what you can come up with in the next couple of weeks.
Happy snapping!

Here's a couple more I did today.

beautiful :)

Thanks Glycerine,

I hope I won't be the only one to post this month!

I'm getting on this now! Nice pics Danielle!

Saw no one had posted with Danielle so I jumped on the band wagon! Here's my "Luvs"... I started with Brunch  :)

****

I forced the forsythias for a little taste of Spring! (bread tie heart)

****

and then....

I squeezed the juice into my Orange juice.

****** and to round things out...sweet & sour!

LOL I tried toast too but mine was boring.

An interesting take on a bird's nest breakfast.

Sweet and sour is my favourite.  Unexpected.

the lemon is quite striking.

Lastly... How do you FORCE a forsythia?  Is it in a pot?

You force forsythia by selecting what you hope to be "good flower bloomers",cut them to desired length (mine are 3 foot) and smash about 3 inches of the base with a hammer until the bark comes off, place them in a vase of water, wait about 2 weeks & change water regularly...then enjoy!! Thanks for the nice comments!

That's so cool!  I didn't know you could force as cut flowers.  I have two good size bushes that I started from cuttings.  I prune them and they get nice long stems.  They have only just lost their last leaves because our winter was so mild.  Can't wait to give this a try.

Oh! As for my "birds nest brunch" it started out as grilled cheese on rye when I got the idea!  :)

Fantastic Becky. Love the toast with the little cut out apple heart and bread bit on the side. I am going to poke a heart shaped hole in my "birds nest" toast from now on. Too cool.

Thanks Wendy!!! It was like a light bulb went on when making this...I thought "hearts" looking everywhere to photograph something interesting! Cookie cutters are awesome for these!

This isn't my inteneded challenge photo, but I couldn't resist. Yesterday I pulled into a parking space and looked over to see a child sticking these to the window. Thought I was meant to be there to get a quick photo to show you all. Funny how I saw hearts everywhere I went.....

HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.

And this is the completed screen ready for printing.  I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
