It's a wild and woolly world of art education information out there, and this group is to help you sift through them and figure out which courses, books and DVDs will help you the most.
This group has three major areas:
1. REVIEWS of online workshops and classes
2. Live workshops, i.e., Art & Soul courses or Art of the Carolinas
3. Book and DVD reviews
This information will help you decide which courses and books will fit you, and vice versa. It will also be useful for those teaching online courses and writing books.
If you have taken a course or read a book and would like to review it, please do, and add it to the discussions. Diana Quinn can help you polish it up, if you need a little help (just send her a note). If you know about a great workshop or book but don't want to write it up, let DQ know and she can add the info here.

Comment by Carolyn Biletziclis on December 17, 2010 at 2:35pm Hi Kerin, boo hoo just went to order your book and darn it, it doesn't ship to Australia. Perhaps in the future???

Carolyn
Hi Mary Jane!
Wow thanks so much that's awesome to hear.
The great thing is it's actually super easy to do. You don't need to know how to sculpt-- it's like 3 dimensional collage so you just put each piece together one element at a time. I think you are really going to love that clay and I can't wait to see what you do with it!!!
Comment by Mary Jane Chadbourne on December 12, 2010 at 3:04am Wow, I just pre-ordered your book from Amazon Kerin! I will def have to take an online course in the new year....really want to learn how to work with the resin!! Your work is stunning!
Hi Diana!
Thanks so much and no worries I will be able to wipe that right off with a napkin. : )
Please add Kerin Gale (me) to the list of instructors. So far I'm offering two jewelry workshops at http://MixedMediaArt.ning.com, Resin Clay Pendants and Vintage Gentleman.
I'm offering a my new "Inspired Remnants, Curious Dreams" book bundled with the Resin Clay Pendants class for only $35 in my etsy shop here.
Thanks and happy holidays!!!

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.
And this is the completed screen ready for printing. I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
