Time to dust off all those cobwebs and get those creative juices flowing again.
There has been much talk about painting challenges and how we miss doing them. So here is your big chance. Take this as a prompt to inspire you to create something in the style of Wassily Kandinsky, the first abstract artist.
This is mainly a painting challenge but if you find inspiration to create in other media, then fine.
It can be an object or photo or poem.... anything inspired by this innovative artist.

a rosetorn of a man by any other name would be as ...
in
1984???
I was pushed over the edge
left my 'world' as I knew it
After seeing his Melbourne retrospective
His life seemed to mirror mine
his vison was my microscope
I wondered and wandered
I still do!
Today a quote of Herman Hesse that was gleaned from a link I READ HERE...
pushed me to contribute to this challenge as set by you "

Permalink Reply by cheryl maddern on October 10, 2012 at 5:27pm yes D I might even drag my self away from the mundane duties of "getting on with IT" and get on with making something not sooooo obtruse that may be worthy of posting in this challenge :)
cheers

Permalink Reply by Eva Macie on October 11, 2012 at 6:14am Hi Danielle,
I hope you realize I was just poking you :O) However I'm glad you said you wanted other expressions because it made me get off my computer duff and photograph some conceptual (temporary) assemblages. I haven't downloaded them yet so I don't know what I have. I may also add more to them in Photoshop. Thanks for a fun challenge.
Cheers,
Eva

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.
And this is the completed screen ready for printing. I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
