Check out this TED talk on the value of the "30-day" challenge to form a good habit.
"It is only by drawing often, drawing everything, drawing incessantly, that one fine day you discover to your surprise that you have rendered something in its true character."
(Camille Pissarro)
Much has been written about the value of doing a painting a day. Some artists can sell well through their painting-a-day blogs, but the concept is important for what it does for the artist's creative process.
Many writers use the "write a page a day" approach in order to hone their skills, prevent blocks, and instill discipline, and the same can be said for trying to draw or paint something every day.
Here we will try to work in 30 day blocks of creativity, but if you'd like to try drawing every day for a week, that's OK too.
There is only one rule: post something to this group every day - even if it is only a doodle!

Hi Bluebird, please could you start a discussion with your name on it and keep adding your work as you produce it, to your discussion. To update it, simply open the discussion and look at the top right side of the page. You will see a button saying Options, simply click on the down arrow to the right and choose Edit Discussion. Either add your most recent work at the beginning or the end (depending on how you like to order your work...)
I have started at last, life just kept getting in the way. Now, inspired by the TED video and the work being produced by everyone doing the challenge, I am determined to keep going and see where it leads. Thanks Diana for getting this group together. Can you tell me if I should be posting my work here or do I just put it up in the general site?
OK - assuming people know how to create their own discussion... if you want to update it, simply open the discussion and look at the top right side of the page. You will see a button saying Options, simply click on the down arrow to the right and choose Edit Discussion. Either add your most recent work at the beginning or the end (depending on how you like to order your work...) lol

Comment by Mary Williams on January 26, 2012 at 7:22am Today's work is up. Nothing yesterday (except a greetings card). Not sure if I'll manage to keep up the pace for a whole 30 days ...
HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.
And this is the completed screen ready for printing. I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
