In most of my work I use stencils,I design them myself, take digital pictures from people (not easy to find a model ;-) ) and sometimes I take them from the web, there it goes wrong...sometimes these pics are useful(good quality) often I cannot use them because they turn out bad when I upload them.(like in the attachement) Is there anybody out there who can show me how to turn those pics into a better quality in photoshop,or isn't it impossible....?

Hi Ingrid,

Since I'm still up in the middle of the night I'm going to take a stab at this- someone may give you a better answer but I will do my best. Just like here on LMM- if you have a low res photo then no one can steal it. Once the pixels are gone, they are gone. You can enlarge them like I do and they print out pixelated but then I just trace around them to smooth them out and then you can enlarge again if you need it bigger. If a photo is say 90x230 like most small ones on the net then there is nothing you can do to enlarge it to a good pic because the info is just not there ( puzzle pieces have been taken out so to speak). Does that make sense? I hope so because I think my brain is gone for the night!!! If not let me know and I will try again in the morning. I just don't know how much YOU know about photography, dpi and pixels, etc. I hope this helped for now. AND since it is daytime for you by now most likely someone else will be able to help if I didn't make myself clear.

Good night/ good morning! These time zones are confusing.............
thanks Mo and have a good night
OOOO- now it shows up- geez- hope you got some insight from these two postings. NING- GGGRRR!
Ingrid- I just wrote a whole explanation about this and it is GONE! so not doing it again- it is almost 1am and I'm tired. So short one- I know you make your stencils fairly large so this attachment wont work. The resolution is too small. Once a shot is uploaded this size it can not be made bigger and look good-that is the whole reason of doing it so it can't be stolen easily. Too many pixels have been taken out- like an incomplete puzzle- not all the pieces are there. You can make it as large as you can before it get's really bad and re- draw it and then enlarge again. What a pain! If you look at the size of the photo when on the web it might look good on the web but once you print it out it is tiny. You can't make it better. If this does not make sense then I'm sure someone else will be able to help you- I'M GOING TO BED! Good night/ morning!
In the later versions of Photoshop there is a option to add extra pixels to make a crappy picture look better.
OOOO- that's good to know- but how much better?
well there not like perfect quality but it is better. I am looking in the manual to find out how..
I have 06...it is not new..
I just had an idea but it is really late here and kinda like dreams seem like a good idea until you wake up so not sure this will work. I am assuming you have a printer/scanner. Print out the attachment and place in your scanner. You can go into your printer and open your "printer driver setup window" or whatever it says on yours. Then you can SCALE your print. Set your paper size and there should be a part that says Page Layout and then click on SCALED. You should be able to scale it from about 20%- 400% or so- whatever your program lets you do. Then print that out. It will be pixelated but you can then do it again until you have the size you want. I know Jay's idea is best but I haven't seen him come back unless he sent you a private message. Maybe this will get you SOMEWHERE. Like I said- I'm half asleep so this might not make any sense but maybe it entertained you for a while........... yawning!!!!!!
great idea mom and i am still wading through a 700 page photoshop manual hahaha
Eureka! I've found it....took me freaking long enough. To little pictures in that dang book lol
Ok here we go:
open your picture
duplicate the picture
filter
other
high pass
4 to 6 pixels in the box
change the blending of that layer to overlay!
then you can add a un-sharp mask filter to that to add more sharpness
filter
sharpen
un- sharp use the preview to get it more sharp.
Do you know how this sounds to someone who does NOT have PS? I'm laughing my ass off! Un-sharp, more sharpness, sharpen, un-sharp, more sharp. It's like Greek to me....... Hope Ingrid gets it. LOL Glad you found it???

HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.

And this is the completed screen ready for printing.  I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
