I am looking for a book with a fairly comprehensive guide to acrylic techniques.
I've been looking at some encyclopedias but they haven't had very good reviews. I am a visual learner and I am looking for a book that has many different demonstrations , examples as well as instructions.
I have looked at Patti Brady's book but I do not have easy access to Golden products and I don't wish to buy them now, either i.e. can't afford them
Can anyone recommend such a book?
Even if Golden products are used you can find comparable products in the other brands.
I bet there are lots of videos on YouTube too. Good luck, I love acrylics. Some of my favorite authors are Edward Betts (may be out of print), Mary Todd Beam, Steve Quiller, Al Brouillette ( out of print), Virginia Cobb.
Love to hear what other books folks like. I too am pretty visual, look for lots of pictures, not so much reading when it comes to techniques.
Thanks again,Janet! You have been a great help, today
I just saw the first book mentioned in the Robert Burridge link that you sent me and have put it on my wishlist.
I love to watch youtube tutorals but sometimes it's also handy to have a book to refer to. I can also laze outside and flick through it ;)
Don't know if you have heard of the book "Acrylic Revolution" by Nancy Reyner it is very good. She also has a second one I think it is Acrylic Revolution 2.
I would just like to say that I received the following books:
Thanks :) You have a good day,too
These book were ordered a few weeks ago with the money that I saved from giving up cigarettes, coffee and junk food i.e those Pringles that Gary likes to make mouth mush with
Put on your favourite Gaga song and the housework will be MUCH more fun! I'm addicted that song, now LOL
I had the same response to "Flavor of Mixed Media". There are alot of other books that offer more information.
It's great to see I'm not the only art book addict!! I have 3 7foot bookcases full of art/craft and other categories...rarely get rid of them, so precious!
