how can i display my artwork into a room scene online?  i'm not sure how to explain what i want to know.

one of our members robert j. hurst has in his some of his photos, room scenes that include his painting on a wall.  the room scene looks like something from online.

is this making any sense?  lol

i want to be able to place my painting/s on a wall into a room scene.  can any of you please tell me how to do this?  perhaps this is done using photoshop, which i don't have.

So ask Robert- he's a great guy- he will tell you how to do it. I think it does take a program like PS, which I don't have either, but I have gone online and have a folder full of those pics so when I CAN and know HOW to do it I will be able to do what you are talking about. Gee- I'm a lot of help!

i did ask robert.

sent him messages but no reply. i've noticed he's not been here with us in awhile.  he's such an awesome artist, he's probably busy creating.

I'll ask him for you DeMarie- or I will let him know he has a message at LMM we would all like to know the answer to if you like.
thanx mo.  that would be great.  tell him he is missed around here.

I'll ask Angela Prattis as she does it as well.

i'm anxious to know what angela's instructions are. i would lov detailed 'how to'. thanx gary.
you can add any picture into a picture through photoshop and many other photo editing programs.

I use this free photo editing software. http://photofiltre.en.softonic.com/download I have then copied and paste my image over the image in the room I downloaded. Or you can pay for room images in places like http://www.istockphoto.com

Here is are examples of a room I liked and downloaded and covered the original image with my own. I just crop out words that are usually at the bottom. Hope this helps.

thank you so much richant.

so, does photofiltre have the room scenes like you have in your example above or do i need to search for one?

what about Image Editor that we have here on LMM?  can the same thing be done using it?

hello all.. so sorry and please i have not at all ignored you..

Im on facebook daily and would have answered asap..

anways the message go to me ( thanks lady Mo)

so heres how it goes..

what your looking for is enviroment shots..

ie like i have  on my site and page..

First YES you do require photoshop...

second you require spaces to incert your painting into..

some of you may or may noy know.. but prior to this career i was an interior designer.. so the enviroment shots i use I have consent for.. (many of these have been my homes in the past or clients of mine)

so please folks if your gonna use a enviromeny shot .. make good n certain that its YOURS to use.. or that you have written consent...

Id flipp if i seen one of mine used without my permission...!

ok so what do you need:

1) a great photo.. amen for digital its sometimes takes many..and use outdoor when possible!

( to get the great photo stand at least 4 -6 feet from the painting.. then zoom in)

if you stand over top of a painting its never square.. as the optical lens slightly alters the shape, zooming in defers this!

after you have the photo.. you will need to use a version of photoshop.. it is by far the best program on earth for photo and edit.

pull your photo up and hitt image at the top of the program bar.. then click image size.. for net purposes knock the size down to 950 pixels.

also crop the photo.. again on the tool bar

further you want to adjust slightly your color, go to image, adjust, then brightness and contrast. this is where i tweek and only ever so slightly.

one last thing go to filter, hit sharpen then sharpen tab this will crisp up the picture.

ok now you have the perfect pic.

ok now go to file new (for a blank page, or open to get one of your saved enviroment shots)

one up look at the size of the image..

mine are all at 1000 pixels..

 (enviroment shots)

so you then go to your paintings image and ajust the sizeing again to work into your envoroment shot..

edit your 950 photo to a more reasonable size that would like the example size of your work...

most cases around 300 pixels..

drag the painting on to your enviroment shot.. if the scale is right perfect we are on to the next steo,, if the scale is way wrong hitt f7 on your key pad this will show your pic and layers...click the little eye icon and this will remove your painting from the enviroment shot..

now go back to your edited pic and resize again.. up or down.. its a bit of a guessing game.. but after youve done a few you'll get the hang of it!

ok your perfect pic is on in the enviroment shot.. now to make it look like it reall was thier you MUST put in a shadow..

again on photoshop

go to layer... layer style and hitt drop shadow.. this again is a play area.. but if you get the shadow wrong it will clearly look out of place...

one you have this.. then save your file and your ready..

now please if you have any question s or need ANT further assistance.. do not hesitate to contact me on facebook.

Im under Robert j Hurst  i will gladly help you out further.. again folks sorry .. i simply didnt look on this site in ages

I hope this helps folks.. like ive always said,, you cant sell it if it aint in the window! its all about the display folks..

blessed be allhttp://www.facebook.com/guyathome?v=photos#!/profile.php?id=541940846

Thanks so much Robert.......

HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.

And this is the completed screen ready for printing.  I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
