Depends on what you want to spend...if you are starting out and want to not be precious with the paint...student quality is fine such as Chromacryl and A2....you will pay a bit more for Matisse or Derivan and even more for Atelier. You will get more pleasing results in general with better quality paint, which is more encouraging than using cheaper stuff and getting less satisfactory results.
hmmm. Looks like it might be a visit to my good friends at Blue Bazaar to test out some golden...they have an intro kit...might be the way to start??? i have also bought some Mattisse Flow to try.
You guys are the bomb!! Thanks for all the help...
Deb I'd be happy to send you a sample of the Golden fluids, heavy and opens. I'll unearth some sample pots and get them off to you this week :-)
Phew!! Thank you all so much..its a difficult lesson..But Im loving the learning!!!Thanks for the support!!!
I love golden fluid acrylics but I stretch them with some gel medium.
I use mostly Liquitex and Golden. But when see some colors that I like dont look at the brand just buy it, it'll work in the end!
Only had a bad experience with acrylics, bought just 1 tube of a very cheap brand, it even was hard to come out of the tube!
Also like Akademie, Rembrant, Acrylex, just to name a few, all brands have their particularities, some are too fluid but you can use'em as watercolor or washes.
Just a tip, allways put them in bought plastic pots cause the tubes waste 2 much paint... even open the tube and take all the paint from it. Dont forget to write brand and color ;o}

I use Lukas studio fluid acrylics for large canvases, especially for backgrounds. For more detailed work I use primarily Liquitex because it's easy to get. I would have to mail order Goldens. I use a lot of paint in my work so find the combination of Lukas and Liquitex works for my pocketbook as well.
i don't really have a favorite but the acrylic brand usually use called Basic.

HERE ARE 2 LINKS to TWO of my youtube videos talking and demonstrating about this amazing product:

So once i have my image printed onto transparency film, I take my Ezscreen silk screen which has been coated in light sensitive emulsion (These sheets come pre-coated so they are ready to use). Place it onto a black board, then place the transparency image on top (this part needs to be done in a dark room with no direct sunlight). I take it outside and expose it for 1 minute and 40 seconds (but time varies depending on time of day and strength of sunlight). After i have exposed the image i place it into a tub of water for around 5 - 8 minutes. Then i rinse the screen out under fast running water until the unexposed area (the black) washes away. I then expose the screen to the sun for a further 20mins to completely harden the light sensitive emulsion.

And this is the completed screen ready for printing.  I simply use an old credit card to spread the ink over the screen making sure i do one complete full stroke across the screen (holding the credit card at a 45 degree angle). I immediately wash the screen out under fast flowing water and pat dry. I use fabric screen printing ink which washes out in water (which makes the process easy).

I love this product, their website is http://ezscreenprint.com/ (for full instructions and details on how to purchase this awesome product).
